What this honour represents

The Quality Business Awards recognise Australian businesses that consistently maintain a quality rating above 95%, drawn from independently verified client feedback and public reviews. Category winners are determined by the cumulative weight of that feedback — not nominated by industry insiders, not voted on by peers, but earned, slowly, through the trust of every family who chose to share their experience publicly.

For us, "Best Newborn Photographer in South Canberra, ACT" isn't a title we awarded ourselves. It's a reflection of every quiet hour spent posing a sleeping baby, every gentle wrap, every conversation with anxious new parents that ended in smiles. The award belongs to those moments — and to the families who lived them with us.

To the parents who arrived nervous and left with images they'll display for the rest of their lives. To the grandparents who joined sessions to be photographed alongside their newest grandchild. Photography of this kind is collaborative by nature. We can be trained in posing, considered in styling, and skilled in editing — but without the family on the other side of the lens, none of it matters.

A decade of the Art of the Calm

For more than a decade, our Kambah studio has been a sanctuary for Canberra's newest arrivals. What began with a single newborn session in 2014 has become 500+ families documented — across newborn, maternity, family, cake smash, and Indian heritage sessions.

The practice has only one philosophy: baby-led, gentle, unhurried. We don't force a pose. We don't rush a session. We work with each baby's natural rhythm, and we treat every newborn we photograph with the same patience we'd want for our own.

It's a quiet practice, by design. The Art of the Calm isn't a marketing line — it's how we work. To have that approach formally recognised by an independent awards body, at a 95%+ quality rating, is something we genuinely do not take lightly.
