We recommend scheduling the session when your baby is 10–11 months old. This ensures your images are edited and ready if you'd like to display them at their actual first birthday party.
For health and safety reasons (specifically allergies), parents provide the cake — this ensures you know exactly what ingredients are used. We recommend a soft sponge with buttercream icing for the best "smash" results. You can also add a Cake Smash Cake to your package for $80 and we'll handle the details.
We provide everything needed for the session — the backdrop, props, and styling. For studio sessions, that means a soft neutral backdrop with balloon styling. For outdoor sessions, a rustic crate, lanterns, and a warm bubble bath finale. Both are pre-set so you don't need to source or style anything yourself.
Simple is best — a nappy cover, a romper, or a simple outfit you don't mind getting messy. You're also welcome to bring a special outfit of your own.
Yes! Every session ends with a splash in our warm bubble bath. It's a wonderful way to clean up the cake mess and usually results in the biggest smiles and best splashing photos of the whole session.
It's common for babies to be unsure of the texture. We have plenty of gentle tricks to help — including hidden snacks tucked in the back of the cake. We never force it; the session is always about capturing their genuine reaction.
Yes — we always start with a few clean portrait shots of your baby, and the Rustic Outdoor session includes one immediate-family portrait. Please note: the Studio session is baby-focused and does not include extended family photos due to the scaled backdrop and session timing.
We offer fine-art enlargements, artisan albums, and wall art. Many parents love our Storyboards for cake smashes — a single frame showing the sequence from clean to messy.
The session fee ($150) is included in the package prices. It acts as a non-refundable retainer that covers the custom set design, cleaning, and professional retouching of your gallery.
Your private viewing gallery will be ready within three weeks. Downloads are available immediately upon selection, and print products take approximately four to six weeks to produce.
Our pricing reflects the quality and custom nature of the shoot. We offer two packages to suit different needs — and flexible payment options if required.
Absolutely. If you find it too hard to choose, you can upgrade your package or purchase additional digital images directly from your private online gallery.

To maintain our brand quality, we don't release unedited RAW files. Each delivered image is hand-retouched to ensure it meets our professional studio standards.
A happy baby makes for the best photos. If your little one is unwell, please let us know as soon as possible and we'll happily reschedule your session. Please note: if a Cake Smash Cake was ordered, you'll need to repurchase or resupply the cake for the rescheduled date.
